A World of Emotions: Learning to Feel and Express
A World of Emotions: Learning to Feel and Express is a book on emotional education for families and educators, written by Fabyane Correa, an educator and educational coach.
The book explores twelve fundamental emotions in children's development—gratitude, joy, sadness, fear, anger, calm, love, shame, jealousy, frustration, courage, and empathy—with the aim of offering adults practical tools, accessible scientific foundations, and concrete resources to support the emotional lives of children ages 3 to 10.
Each chapter follows a consistent four-part structure: a text for adults that includes scientific foundations, the author's personal experiences, and practical guidance; a fable featuring the characters Luma and Pip, intended to be read aloud as a family; an activity to do together; and a set of questions to open up conversation between adults and children.
The book also includes supplementary materials, with cut-out sheets and family activities linked to each chapter, as well as a bibliography of leading authors in developmental psychology and emotional education.
A World of Emotions pays special attention to neurodiversity, including in each chapter specific guidance for families and educators supporting children with ADHD or other forms of neurodivergence.
